Visual and satirically poetic performance about seven people set against the pulsating backdrop of the big city. A dreamlike series of moving images transport the characters into situations where the lines between everyday
life, memories and miracles begin to blur. Until they get ‘back’ again, a little
bit wiser about life’s rich tapestry. All interwoven with the slapstick comedy from the vivacious Italian masked comedy.
The title "The Human Comedy" encompasses exactly what the audience witnesses.
With a nod towards Dante’s "Divine Comedy", it is the ordinary and mundane in people’s lives and their daily trials and tribulations which are elevated up into the comedy’s upper atmosphere, but without the story losing all contact with reality.
The production was enthusiastically received in the autumn of 2003 by both audience and critics alike, and was selected by The Actor’s Association of 1879 to celebrate their 125th anniversary.
